Often, these countries are hidden gems which remain undiscovered, mostly because they are remote and difficult to reach. I enjoy exploring and showcasing these ‘off-the-radar’ destinations, which will, hopefully, inspire others to plan their own adventure to a far-flung corner of the planet.

I’m also a fan of travel trivia and if you are too, you’ll find plenty of travel quizzes on the site.

Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Island

Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Islands and the only town of any size in this remote British territory.

A quintessential British town, Stanley is home to 2,460 souls, while the entire population of the Falkland Islands is 3,400.

Landscapes of the Falkland Islands 🇫🇰.

The Falklands appear dwarfed by their large neighbour, South America, but have a total land area of around 12,000 square kilometres (4,700 miles) equivalent to about half of Wales or the state of Connecticut in the USA.

Outside of Stanley, the capital (and only town) which is home to almost the entire population of 3,400 - the islands are almost empty.

Drives along the long and lonely gravel roads reveal pristine landscapes which are totally devoid of human activity.

There is no accurate survey of the number of Magellanic penguins in the Falkland Islands, but estimates suggest there are around 100,000 pairs.

This is likely less than 10% of the world’s population.

Shy and elusive, Magellanic penguins build their nests in underground burrows.

There are many nesting sites in the Falkland Islands.

The Falkland Islands is one of the best places in the world to see penguins in their natural environment.

Every summer, around one million penguins nest on the islands’ sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, and green shorelines.

While there are just 3,400 souls living on the Falkland Islands, there are around one million penguins which nest here every summer.

These penguins represent five of the world’s seventeen species – King, Gentoo, Rockhopper, Magellanic and Macaroni.

What’s more, for the Gentoo, the Falklands are home to the largest population on Earth.

These photos were taken today at one of the many Gentoo penguin colonies found on the Falkland Islands 🇫🇰.

Each village in Wallis and Futuna is dominated by

Each village in Wallis and Futuna is dominated by an imposing, solid, towering church, most of which have been built from black basalt stone with white limestone mortar.

While Wallisian houses are generally, single-level, modest structures, the churches by contrast are multi-level design extravaganzas with each community seeming to compete with the next for the funkiest church design.

Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Island

Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Islands and the only town of any size in this remote British territory.

A quintessential British town, Stanley is home to 2,460 souls, while the entire population of the Falkland Islands is 3,400.

The Falklands appear dwarfed by their large neighbour, South America, but have a total land area of around 12,000 square kilometres (4,700 miles) equivalent to about half of Wales or the state of Connecticut in the USA.

Outside of Stanley, the capital (and only town) which is home to almost the entire population of 3,400 - the islands are almost empty.

Drives along the long and lonely gravel roads reveal pristine landscapes which are totally devoid of human activity.

There is no accurate survey of the number of Magellanic penguins in the Falkland Islands, but estimates suggest there are around 100,000 pairs.

This is likely less than 10% of the world’s population.

Shy and elusive, Magellanic penguins build their nests in underground burrows.

There are many nesting sites in the Falkland Islands.

The Falkland Islands is one of the best places in the world to see penguins in their natural environment.

Every summer, around one million penguins nest on the islands’ sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, and green shorelines.

While there are just 3,400 souls living on the Falkland Islands, there are around one million penguins which nest here every summer.

These penguins represent five of the world’s seventeen species – King, Gentoo, Rockhopper, Magellanic and Macaroni.

What’s more, for the Gentoo, the Falklands are home to the largest population on Earth.

These photos were taken today at one of the many Gentoo penguin colonies found on the Falkland Islands 🇫🇰.

Each village in Wallis and Futuna is dominated by

Each village in Wallis and Futuna is dominated by an imposing, solid, towering church, most of which have been built from black basalt stone with white limestone mortar.

While Wallisian houses are generally, single-level, modest structures, the churches by contrast are multi-level design extravaganzas with each community seeming to compete with the next for the funkiest church design.

My aim is to create useful, usable travel guides/ reports on destinations I have visited. My reports are very comprehensive and detailed as I believe more information is better than less. They are best suited to those planning a journey to a particular destination.

Many of the destinations featured on my website are far off the regular beaten tourist trail. Often, these countries are hidden gems which remain undiscovered, mostly because they are remote and difficult to reach. I enjoy exploring and showcasing these ‘off-the-radar’ destinations, which will, hopefully, inspire others to plan their own adventure to a far-flung corner of the planet.

I’m also a fan of travel trivia and if you are too, you’ll find plenty of travel quizzes on the site.

The Falklands appear dwarfed by their large neighbour, South America, but have a total land area of around 12,000 square kilometres (4,700 miles) equivalent to about half of Wales or the state of Connecticut in the USA.

Outside of Stanley, the capital (and only town) which is home to almost the entire population of 3,400 - the islands are almost empty.

Drives along the long and lonely gravel roads reveal pristine landscapes which are totally devoid of human activity.

This is likely less than 10% of the world’s population.
